1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the IELTS Lab platform (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
These Terms apply to all users of the platform, including visitors, registered users, and subscribers. IELTS Lab reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Description of Service
IELTS Lab is a premium IELTS preparation platform that combines artificial intelligence technology with certified human tutors to help students prepare for the IELTS examination. The Service covers all four IELTS skills:
- Reading — Comprehension practice and strategy coaching
- Listening — Audio-based exercises with tutor guidance
- Writing — AI and tutor feedback on Task 1 and Task 2 essays
- Speaking — Recording analysis and pronunciation coaching
The Service is provided on a subscription basis following a free trial period as described below.
3. Free Trial & Subscription Terms
Free Trial: New users are entitled to submit their first 5 essays at no charge. No credit card is required to begin the free trial. The free trial is limited to one per user and may not be transferred or shared.
Subscription: After exhausting your free submissions, continued access to AI feedback, tutor messaging, and all platform features requires a paid subscription. Subscription tiers, pricing, and billing intervals are displayed at checkout and on our pricing page.
IELTS Lab reserves the right to modify pricing with reasonable notice. Your existing subscription rate will not change mid-cycle without prior notification.
4. Payment, Billing & Cancellation
Payment: Payments are processed securely through our third-party payment provider. By providing payment details, you authorise IELTS Lab to charge your selected payment method for the subscription fee on a recurring basis.
Billing Cycle: Subscriptions are billed on a monthly or annual basis as selected at checkout. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled.
Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at ielts.lab26@gmail.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access until then. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing cycle.
Refunds: Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us within 7 days of the charge.
5. Acceptable Use
By using IELTS Lab, you agree not to:
- Submit work that is not your own for the purpose of academic fraud or examination deception.
- Share your account, login credentials, or subscription access with any other person.
- Reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any AI feedback, tutor advice, or platform content without written permission from IELTS Lab.
- Use the platform to harass, abuse, or threaten tutors or other users.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the platform's technology or infrastructure.
- Use the platform in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international laws.
Violation of these terms may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.
6. Disclaimer — Band Score Estimates
AI-generated feedback and band score estimates provided by IELTS Lab are based on the official IELTS assessment criteria and are intended as guidance only. They are not a guarantee of actual examination results.
IELTS Lab makes no representations or warranties that use of our platform will result in achieving any particular band score. Actual examination performance depends on many factors outside our control, including the test-taker's preparation, test conditions, and examiner judgement.
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on IELTS Lab — including but not limited to platform design, software, AI models, written materials, feedback templates, and branding — is the exclusive intellectual property of IELTS Lab and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.
You retain ownership of the content you submit (your essays, recordings, etc.). By submitting content, you grant IELTS Lab a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process and analyse your submissions for the purpose of providing feedback and improving our AI systems.
Unauthorised reproduction or distribution of any IELTS Lab content is strictly prohibited.
8. Termination of Accounts
IELTS Lab reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if continued access poses a risk to the platform or its users.
You may close your account at any time by contacting ielts.lab26@gmail.com. Upon account closure, your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Termination for cause will not entitle you to a refund of any prepaid fees.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, as the primary jurisdiction of IELTS Lab. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless otherwise required by local mandatory law in your country of residence.
